Pauline Angela Salvana Bautista was a TV Catechist at the Family Rosary Crusade TV Program before exploring a secular approach to values formation while enrolled in the Doctorate of Public Administration at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UPNCPAG) and while teaching Civic Welfare Training Service at the UP College of Music, collaborating on values-oriented public ethnomusicology workshops with environmental artist Joey Ayala.

She was granted a Research Fellowship at the Asia Pacific Leadership Program of East West Center Hawaii and upon her return joined the UPNCPAG Center of Leadership, Citizenship and Democracy. She is co-editor and chapter author of The Siningbayan Art of Nation Building Fieldbook, a collection of creative approaches to values formation in various art forms (Abueva, Ayala, Bautista, et.al, 2009, 2014) and The PalayBigasKanin CoreBook, a collection of learning resources on Rice (Ayala, Bautista, Nadera et al., 2011. NCCA, UNDP).

She is currently part of a team of marine biologists, coastal resource managers, cultural workers and social artists creating the Ethnoecological Coastal Resource Management Stewardship National Certification of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority following the publication of “Sustainable Development of Philippine Coastal Resources: Subsidiarity in Ethnoecology through Inclusive Participatory Education” (Ayala, Bautista, Pajaro, et al, 2016. UNESCO) and its successful pilot with Agta, Dumagat and Ilongot fisherfolk and men and women farmers (Siningbayan Awit ng Magdaragat, 2017. BLAFI, Daluhay, UNDP-DENR). She is on the board of Bagong Lumad Artists Foundation Inc. (est. 1988 by Joey Ayala).
